The Art of Pastoral Caring “Holy Ground” – Session 3

The Manitou Intentional Learning Community Presents

The Art of Pastoral Caring “Holy Ground” – Session 3

Caring for and supporting dying and grieving persons is a critical aspect of pastoral ministry for which people often feel ill-prepared. This workshop combines the “very personal face” and “immediacy” of caring for the dying and bereaved as well as a theoretical and theological base for this work. This work-shop will provide participants with an opportunity for reflection on their professional and personal concerns and experiences regarding death and grief and an opportunity to enhance their ability to provide pastoral care to the dying and bereaved. There will be experiential aspects to these workshops

Anne Simmonds teaches Ministry with Dying and Grieving Persons at Emmanuel College. She has had extensive experience with the dying and bereaved both as Director of Chaplaincy at the former Wellesley Hospital, as former minister of pastoral care at Rosedale United Church and as a former nurse. She is a gifted facilitator whose previous workshop in Sudbury was extremely well received.
