Movie Review: Happy Feet!

We enjoyed an engaging time thanks to MILC hosting, and the Rev Dawn Vaneyk facilitating, an afternoon watching the movie Happy Feet 2.

The movie was the continuation of the journey of self-discovery of Mumble who cannot sing like the other penguins, but man can he dance! Mumble continues his adventurous ways and as he embraces his “gift” so also his family and community.

We enjoyed some lively discussion about Emperor Penguins, even (see photo of cute penguin-in-training) experiencing first-hand the penguin waddle. Dawn helped us to engage some of the important themes of the movie like the meaning of “community” and “sacrifice”. Participants represented a wide range of ages which made for a diversity of perspectives.
