World Labyrinth Day 2016

Celebrate World Labyrinth Day on Saturday, May 7th!

At St. Peter’s United Church, 203 York Street, Sudbury.

  • 11:00 – 11:30 Introduction to labyrinths and labyrinth walking with Rev. Dr. Gailand MacQueen and a children’s program.
  • 11:30 – 12:00 Family mindfulness activities
  • 12:00 – 12:30 Refreshments and fellowship

At St. Peter’s Labyrinth, Lourdes Grotto, 271 Van Horne St., Sudbury.

  • 12:50 Prepare for a group walk of the outdoor labyrinth. We will“Walk as One at 1” with people around the world.

This is a family friendly event for adults and children. There will be childcare available for very young children.

Welcome: Extending Hospitality to Refugees

extendinghospitalityOn Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 at St. Andrew’s United Church approximately 60 people gathered for dinner and presentations. Presentations and workshops during the evening included cross- cultural communication, lessons learned from previous sponsorship experiences, and understanding Islam with a representative from the Sudbury Mosque.

Annual General Meeting 2015

MILC’s Annual General Meeting was held on November 18, 2015 at St. Luke’s United Church.  “Moving Forward with Hope” was the theme this year.  The event included two workshops facilitated by Barbara Lloyd, the AGM and a dinner.   The focus of her workshops was “Finding Purpose, Energy and Joy in Living out God’s Mission.”  Thank you to the volunteers from St. Luke’s for assisting with dinner.

Coming to Advent with Anticipation

Rev. Dr. Bill Steadman lead a workshop to explore Advent scriptures and music, and provide opportunities to write stories, reflections, plays, prayers, and liturgy. The session took place at St Luke’s United Church in Sudbury on Saturday, October 3rd, 2015.
